Arrival in Istanbul

Your adventure begins as you touch down in Istanbul, where Turkey’s vibrant culture and warm hospitality await. A transfer will take you to your five-star hotel, where you can relax and freshen up before the journey ahead. Soon after, gather with the group to receive your motorbikes—a moment that sets the tone for the days of exploration to come.

As evening falls, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the atmospheric streets of Istanbul. This gentle walk will lead us to one of the city’s premier restaurants, renowned for its authentic Turkish cuisine. Here, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable welcome dinner that blends traditional flavors with contemporary finesse. DAY 2/11:

Scenic Ride to Bakucha Vineyard & Arcadia Vineyards

Our day begins with a scenic motorcycle ride along forested trails to Çilingoz Natural Park, where lush greenery meets the Black Sea. At this tranquil coastal spot, a lake and forest embrace each other, creating a picturesque backdrop for our midday break. Our backup vehicle, serving as a mobile cabin, will be ready for any needs, allowing you to dive into the sea or simply relax before lunch by the shore. And a Forest Safari on Unimogs is a must do.

After our break, we’ll continue our journey to Bakucha Vineyard and its renowned Arcadia Vineyards, the first winery in the Thracian region revived in recent years. Arcadia carries a proud legacy dating back to the ancient Thracian Odrysian Kingdom, renowned for its wine making skills and lush terroir, once known as "Lozengrad" or "Grape Town." Here, Mrs. Berna will guide us through the vineyards, where Cabernet Franc shines among other varietals like Pinot Grigio.

After tasting the vineyard’s elegant wines, you can unwind in Arcadia’s spa before enjoying a traditional dinner infused with local flavors. DAY 3/11:

Journey to Dessera Vineyard with a Visit to Dupnisa Cave

Today, our adventure leads us to Dessera Vineyard, beautifully situated at the foothills of the Istranca Mountains. Established in 2004, Dessera spans 300 acres, cultivating an impressive variety of grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Öküzgözü.

We’ll take the scenic route through the Strandja Mountains, stopping for a relaxing lunch at Longoz, a stunning flooded forest ecosystem. Here, we'll explore the diverse flora and fauna, characterized by towering beech, oak, and hornbeam trees, all wrapped in lush climbing plants. To immerse ourselves in this unique environment, we’ll join an Unimog Safari, allowing us to enjoy the sights and sounds of this vibrant habitat.

After lunch, we’ll saddle up and ride towards the magnificent Dupnisa Cave. This vast underground system, formed over four million years, features a flowing underground river, deep lakes, and breathtaking formations of stalactites and stalagmites. The cave’s unique atmosphere, with its varying temperatures and humidity, creates a fascinating exploration experience.

Finally, we’ll continue our ride to Dessera Vineyard with a different approach. Having a Turkish touch on being a vinery. See yourself. DAY 4/11:

Exploring the Thracian Terroir of Tekirdağ

Today begins with a delightful breakfast in the fresh air, surrounded by the stunning landscape. Afterward, we’ll saddle up for a short ride of 120 km toward Tekirdağ, a beautiful region located by the Marmara Sea. This area is known for its unique terroir, which significantly influences the local vineyards.

For safety and to enjoy the wine without concern, we’ll leave our motorcycles at the hotel and board a comfortable minibus. Our first stop will be the Barel Vineyard, where we’ll delve into the viticultural practices that thrive in the nearby Black Sea region. Next, we’ll explore Umurbey Vineyard, known for its diverse grape varieties and commitment to quality.

Finally, we’ll visit Barbare Vineyard, where we’ll savor a delicious dinner featuring local delicacies paired with exquisite wines. Throughout the day, we will appreciate the nuances of the Thracian terroir, gaining insight into the differences between the vineyards near the Black Sea and those flourishing in the Marmara Sea region. Today, we set off towards Porta Caeli, meaning "Gates to Heaven," an exquisite winery that harmonizes high-tech production with sustainable practices in winemaking. As the winemaker emphasizes, “We are constantly working to keep up with the ever-evolving winemaking industry.” The winery employs both traditional oak and modern steel tanks for fermentation, ensuring a perfect balance of innovation and heritage.

Nestled in the temperate climate of the Aegean part of Thrace, Porta Caeli benefits from soil layers millions of years old, situated within the Historical Gallipoli Peninsula National Park. The surrounding pine forests and the refreshing winds from the Aegean Sea create a unique microclimate that enhances the terroir, allowing the grapes to mature gracefully. Regular analyses of water, soil, and leaves ensure that sustainable viticulture is practiced without harming the environment.

Before we arrive at the winery, we’ll embark on an exhilarating ride along the Uçmakdere road. After savoring a delightful breakfast at our stunning hotel, we set our course for Ayvalık, a vibrant region renowned for its rich history, breathtaking scenery, and lively culture. As we ride through the picturesque Ida Mountains, we’ll enjoy a thrilling journey along curvy roads flanked by lush forests, immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature.

Upon arrival, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the charming old town, soaking in the local ambiance and culture. Following our exploration, we’ll head to a nearby winery for an unforgettable dining experience. The Madra Winery invites you to indulge in a peaceful dinner amidst its stunning vineyard setting, surrounded by lush grapevines and an unparalleled view.

You’ll be treated to a seasonal à la carte menu paired with exquisite wines, showcasing the region's rich terroir. The vineyard thrives in clayey, stony soil at an elevation of 550 meters, benefiting from the refreshing Aegean Breeze that ensures the perfect conditions for grape ripening.

Today begins with an early breakfast, preparing us for a long and adventurous ride covering up to 420 km. Our journey will take us along a mix of main roads, B roads, and scenic mountain routes, culminating in a visit to the Kula Fairy Chimneys. Finally, we'll arrive in Katakekaumene, a geopark area in Manisa's Kula District known for its remarkable volcanic formations that date back over two thousand years.

The ancient geographer Strabo famously described this region as "Katakekaumene," or "Scorched Land," due to its unique coal-black basalt stones. He documented that this area is devoid of trees but rich in vineyards that produce exceptional wines, likening them to renowned Italian varieties such as Falarnea and Aminea. Strabo’s accounts emphasize that the wines of Katakekaumene are of remarkable quality, cherished for both their pleasure and medicinal properties.

As we reach our destination, we will enjoy an immersive experience at the Villa Estet at the Yanık Ülke Winery. Ascent to Tmolus Mt., Birgi and Sept Sages Vinery

Today, we embark on an exhilarating journey as we ascend to Tmolus Mountain and enjoy the breathtaking views of Gölcük Lake. The winding roads and stunning scenery make this part of the ride truly unique. We’ll pause for a coffee break at Gölcük Lake, surrounded by its tranquil beauty, before descending towards the charming Birgi Village.

Birgi has a rich history, having been ruled by the Phrygians, Lydians, Achaemenid Empire, Kingdom of Pergamon, and Romans. Our first stop will be the Çakırağa Mansion, an exquisite example of Ottoman civil architecture built in the late 18th century by merchant Çakıroğlu Şerif Ali Agha. This three-story mansion offers stunning panoramas of both Istanbul and Izmir, showcasing authentic wall paintings and intricate woodwork that captivate all visitors.

After a brief exploration of the mansion, we’ll savor lunch at Birgi Sofrası, known for its delectable local cuisine. Following lunch, we’ll navigate one of the Aegean region's most winding roads as we ascend from Birgi towards the Messogis Mountain range. Enjoy the thrilling curves and spectacular views along the way.

Our journey culminates at the Seven Sages Winery, situated along the historic route between Ephesus and Magnesia, honoring the great philosophers known as the Seven Sages of Greece. The winery pays tribute to these thinkers, naming its wines after renowned figures such as Thales and Pythagoras, reflecting the region’s rich philosophical heritage.

Today, we embrace a leisurely pace, taking a break from our motorcycles. After enjoying a delightful breakfast on the terrace of the winery, we will board our comfortable midibus, dressed casually for a day of exploration.

Our first stops will be the magnificent ruins of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world. Here, you can marvel at the grand architecture and historical significance of sites like the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. Following this, we will visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a serene and spiritual site believed to be where Mary spent her last days.

Next, we’ll travel to the charming town of Şirince, famous for its local wine production. Here, you'll have the opportunity to indulge in wine tastings, shop for unique souvenirs, and enjoy a delightful lunch featuring regional delicacies.

Today, we embrace the clear waters of the Aegean and the authentic charm of Urla, nestled between İzmir and Çeşme. After a delightful breakfast, we saddle up for our last riding adventure, a scenic 90 km route to Ahmetbeyli, where winding coastal roads and the shimmering sea accompany us.

Upon returning our bikes at Ayda Winery and Vineyards, we’ll explore a land rich in geological wonder and winemaking heritage. Established at 400 meters, Ayda cultivates premium white and red grapes, including Sauvignon Blanc, Narince, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Urla's history is steeped in viticulture, dating back to the ancient settlement of Klazomenai, known for its olive oil and wine production since 4000 BC. We’ll wander the Urla Vineyard Route, visiting boutique wineries like MmgUrla and Usca, surrounded by picturesque country homes and lush vineyards.

We then ventured into the Aegean Terroir, celebrated for its commitment to quality and innovation in winemaking.

Throughout our travels, we experienced the unique characteristics of the Thracian and Aegean terroirs, where the combination of temperate climates and ancient soils creates ideal conditions for grape cultivation.
